Agreement to these terms
These terms govern your access to and use of zelnum.com, the ZelNum dashboard, and the ZelNum API (together, the service). By creating an account, running a lookup, uploading a file, or calling the API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.
These terms apply together with our Privacy Policy and the Security & Data Handling page.
What ZelNum is and is not
ZelNum is a data-quality and verification service. It checks whether phone numbers, email addresses, and account identifiers show registration or availability signals on supported platforms, and returns fields such as validity, carrier, country, line type, and platform availability.
ZelNum is verification only:
- ZelNum does not send any messages. No SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, or other message is ever sent to the numbers you submit, and the service cannot be used to start a chat or begin any other outreach.
- ZelNum does not read private account content. We do not read, retrieve, or access private messages, contact lists, profile content, or any other private data inside WhatsApp, Telegram, or any other messaging or social account.
- ZelNum does not prove identity. Results are data-quality and risk signals. They are not identity proof, and they do not replace KYC, AML, legal, or platform-policy review.
- ZelNum is not affiliated with the platforms it checks. It is not an official product of WhatsApp, Telegram, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Binance, or any other third-party platform named on this site.
Permitted uses
ZelNum is provided for the following purposes only:
- CRM list cleaning and contact record quality checks.
- Marketing list hygiene: suppressing invalid, duplicate, unreachable, or wrong-channel records inside lists you are already allowed to process.
- Fraud, abuse, and risk review of signup, lead, or applicant records.
- Internal data-quality and compliance support for records you hold a lawful basis to process.
- Developer integration of validation into your own product through the API.
These are the intended uses of the service. If your purpose is to reach people who did not ask to hear from you, ZelNum is not the right tool and these terms do not permit that use.
Prohibited uses
You must not use ZelNum to:
- Send, or prepare to send, unsolicited messages, spam, or bulk cold outreach of any kind.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, embarrass, or harm any person, or to find people who do not want to be found.
- Check numbers or identifiers for which you do not hold a lawful basis and any required consent.
- Build, resell, or distribute a database of people, or of their platform memberships, as a data broker.
- Circumvent platform rules, rate limits, or access controls, or resell raw access to the service.
- Impersonate ZelNum, present results as identity proof, or generate reports that claim identity or consent has been verified.
- Break any law that applies to you, including data-protection and anti-spam rules such as the GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, or local equivalents.
We may suspend or close any account that we reasonably believe is being used for a prohibited purpose.
Your consent obligations
By submitting a phone number, email address, or other identifier, you confirm that you hold a lawful basis for processing it and that you have obtained any consent or permission required by law or by the relevant platform.
You remain responsible for the notices, contracts, internal approvals, and retention decisions that apply to the data you upload. ZelNum does not grant permission to contact anyone, and a positive registration signal is not consent to message that person.
Accounts and access
Keep your credentials and API keys confidential, and use API keys from server-side systems rather than public client-side code. You are responsible for activity under your account, including jobs submitted by members of your team. Contact support if you believe your account or a key has been compromised.
Fees and credits
ZelNum is pay-as-you-go. Available products, credit pricing, and minimum order sizes are listed on the pricing page. Credits used by completed lookups are charged as described there. When money comes back to you is covered under Refunds.
Refunds
A lookup is complete when it returns a result, and a result you dislike is still a result. A number that comes back "not registered" or "no account found" was checked just as thoroughly as one that comes back positive, and the credit for it is spent. Completed lookups are not refundable.
Lookups that fail on our side are a different matter. When a check cannot complete — a job stops halfway, an endpoint returns an error, or a number comes back "unknown" because the lookup failed — the system recredits those credits to your balance automatically. You do not need to ask. If a failed charge ever slips through without its recredit, write to support with the job ID or request ID within 30 days and we will recredit it.
Unspent credits can be refunded as well. Within 14 days of a payment, you can ask for the unused portion of that purchase back. Write from the email address on your account and include the order reference printed on your receipt. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Creem, our payment provider, and usually take a few business days to appear on your statement.
If you live in the EU or the UK, the checkout asks for your express consent before delivery starts. Giving that consent means the statutory 14-day withdrawal right no longer applies once delivery has begun, and for this service delivery begins immediately.
One request before you escalate: contact us before asking your bank for a chargeback. Nearly every billing dispute is faster to fix by email.
Data handling and privacy
How we handle account data, uploaded files, lookup results, and support messages is described in the Privacy Policy, with operational detail on the Security & Data Handling page. In short: we process the numbers you submit only to return the signal you asked for, we never send messages to them, and we do not sell lookup data.
Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Registration and availability signals are estimates derived from platform behaviour. They can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong, and platform behaviour can change without notice. ZelNum does not warrant that results are accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose, and is not responsible for decisions you make from them.
Nothing on this site is legal advice. You are responsible for confirming that your workflow complies with the laws and platform policies that apply to you.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the service if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we reasonably believe your use creates risk for other users, for the platforms we check, or for ZelNum. You may stop using the service at any time.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes as well. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
